Thank you all for your beautiful entries. The judges are going to have a very hard time deciding the winners!

Due to a last minute influx of fine entries and many recent calls from folks wanting to enter, we decided to postpone the deadline of the contest until March 31, 2009. We hope that you are not too disappointed at having to wait a bit, but we want to give as many people as possible a chance to enter. Our winners will be announced at our May 2009 Spring Fun Fest.

Entry Requirements & Terms

General Requirements

There are three entry categories: Professional, Adult Amateur (photography is not significant source of income), and Child (12 & under).
There will be one Grand prize overall, plus a 1^st, 2^nd and honorable mention for each entry category
All photo entries must have been taken within the Oxbow Park boundaries and not have been taken more than one year before contest started. Negatives and color or black-and-white slides cannot be accepted.

Photos must say something about the park (not just a close up of a child sitting on the grass, etc.) and must show some aspect of the park that would make people want to come here (beautiful surroundings, inviting trails, fun activities, fascinating animals, unusual sights, etc.)
There are no fees, but submissions will be limited to a total of 10 entries per person regardless of format (by email or print sent by mail). Prints should be around 8 ½ x 11 inches and files sent electronically should be JPEGs no larger than 8 ½ x 11. Winners will be expected to supply full sized digital files or negatives for highest quality reproduction in various media.

All submissions become property of Friends of Oxbow to be used in the Friends newsletters and to promote the park in other media forms. Photo copyright will be shown with any image used and credit will be given for photos not copyrighted.

Contest Terms

By submitting an entry to the Friends Photo Contest, you are agreeing to the following terms:

To be accepted as valid entries, all images entered must be originals and must be the property of the person submitting the entry. Photos cannot have been previously published nor won awards and the entrant must possess all rights in the photo hereby confirming that they do not violate any copyright laws.
By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to give Friends of Oxbow full rights to publish the photo on our Web site and in any future media promotions of Oxbow Park with no prior notification or reimbursement to you or any other agent.
Friends of Oxbow is a family-friendly organization. We reserve the right to reject unsuitable images such as nude photos as well as photos with sexually suggestive or violent content.
Model Release: Any submission with recognizable people in the photo needs to have a model release form included with the submitted photo. Friends will not be responsible for any claims or complaints against infringement of rights or damages from third parties relating to the subject/subject matter of entries, and the entrant agrees to indemnify and hold Friends harmless in such cases.

Though Friends of Oxbow will treat all submitted work with the utmost care, Friends is not responsible for any damage or loss occurring during the sending or receiving of entries either through the mail or via the Internet. Nor is Friends responsible for any problems or damages experienced by the entrant due to forces beyond control of the organization, such as troubles relating to computer networks, computer virus infections or unauthorized computer access.
Photos and storage media such as CDs will not be returned to entrants even if a return envelope is provided, nor will entrants be notified of receipt of their entries.
Friends reserves the right to contact the photographer by telephone or other method in order to confirm information in the entry form or for any other purpose considered necessary.
Winners may later be requested to submit high-resolution JPEG images or high-quality prints for such purposes as the production of publications and promotions related to the contest.
Entrants are responsible for all entry-related costs, such as duplication, enlargement, postage and costs related to any equipment including computer systems, transmission fees, etc. Winners will also be responsible for any taxes or charges related to the receipt of any prize.
The winners will be announced on our website by August 1^st, 2008. The decisions of the judges shall be final.
