All About Friends

In the late 1970's and early 1980's, a small group of people became very involved with Oxbow Park. These folks shared a common love of the outdoors and nature, and took advantage of all that this relatively new county park had to offer. Almost immediately, these pioneers had a vision for how they could influence, support and provide services for the park.

In 1982, after many long meetings and discussions, they founded the organization known today as the "Friends of Oxbow”. As their first tasks they incorporated Friends as a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, put in place a board of directors, and gathered members. The Friends mission is to support the educational, environmental and recreational goals of Oxbow park and Zollman Zoo. Over the years the group has raised much needed funds, provided volunteers, and implemented the Friends mission in countless ways. You can be a part of this too by joining Friends today!
